A self-taught fashion photographer, Mohammad Iliyas khanday hails from Budshah Nagar, Natipora. Photography was part of his childhood until he realized it has become a focal part of his life. Fashion photography intrigued him and everything associated with it.
“I was confident of what I wanted to do but because of the stereotype of fashion photography as a non-stable job and due to lack of motivational support, I went to Bangalore and did my engineering”
The 24-year-old fashion photographer did his schooling from Linton Hall School Rajbagh and then pursued his engineering from Acharya Institute of technology Bangalore.
“In the freshmen year of my engineering, I did some savings and bought myself a DSLR camera that I knew nothing about. Google and youtube were the ultimate help and whatever I have learnt till date is because of it”
Iliyas has worked with two local clothing brands in Bangalore ‘TAR JEANS’ and ‘KEYS’. Also, he’s looking forward to few more big projects. He aspires to start a photography school in Kashmir which will focus on all genres of photography.
“I want to provide quality fashion portfolios to the people of Kashmir who are going to step into the industry of fashion and glamor. I will be providing a budget oriented portfolio so that everyone will be able to get his/her portfolio done”
