He alternates between being a technology journalist at Moroccan news agency and a reporter at renowned local daily Rising Kashmir.
Peer Viqar Ul Aslam is a resident of Natipora, Srinagar. He was awarded with JKIF Youth Icon Award 2015.
“I see Journalism as a very power medium that could empower technocrats and stir up the government to really support or at least understand their obligations. And by technology I’m not just talking about developing social media sites, one simple example can be biometric attendance of employees. Now no one can stay home and get marked for the day. Though it hasn’t been developed or innovated in kashmir, but my aim is to cover stories or inspire stories like these to originate from Kashmir. I’m not looking for a mark zuckerberg of Kashmir rather a Steve Jobs kind of people.”
He is a co-founder of Eridanus Software solutions, has developed numerous apps.
“I have also worked with multiple companies training hundreds of candidates enhancing their skills.”
Viqar is currently perusing his post-graduation in Mass Communication and Journalism from MERC, University of Kashmir. He also works as a reporter in Rising Kashmir and covers both technology and conflict based stories.
