He failed four times in his endeavor but did not lose heart and finally made it to the Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS).
Hailing from Gogo, a neighborhood in the north-east of the Srinagar Airport, Tajamul Yousuf cracked the KAS exam in his fifth attempt.
“I was definitely disappointed after I couldn’t qualify in the four previous consecutive terms but I decided to try again. Due to my steadfastness and persistent support of the family, I finally made it to the KAS. Praise be to Allah who gave me the courage to fight.”
Son of a clerk in the State’s Power Development Department, he says that Dr. Shah Faisal (a boy from Kupwara who topped the IAS some years ago) was his inspiration like many other civil service aspirants in J&K.
